What Is Claude Code
In one line: it’s an AI coding agent that runs in your terminal. Built on Anthropic’s Claude models, it doesn’t just “generate” code — it handles a full workflow inside a single interactive session:
- Explores the project structure on its own
- Finds and reads the relevant files
- Edits code
- Runs tests/builds and checks the results
- Writes up the git commit
Since it’s a CLI tool rather than an IDE plugin, it doesn’t care which editor you use — you can plug it into whatever terminal setup you already have. That’s one of the things I liked most.
Why I Keep Coming Back to It

This has been especially useful for a project like this blog, where there’s a lot of project-specific detail to keep straight — content schema, component rules, the ko/en slug-matching convention for bilingual posts. Writing those rules once into a CLAUDE.md file means I don’t have to re-explain them every time; it just keeps working within that context.
